To all of you thinking about applying to an MBA, I think you will find this post very useful. I want to explain the steps needed to be accepted to a Business School, so that everyone will be aware of what to expect during the preparation and application process.
First of all, you should know that it would be ideal to start your preparation with one year advance. There is a lot of work to do, and you will want enough time to cover all the aspects I am about to mention. You can do it in less time, but you will have to rush.
I would say that there are 10 major points that you need to take into account when pursuing your MBA program:
- Schools receptions
- Tests: TOEFL and GMAT
- Activities and community services
- Research MBA programs
- Self-motivation and self-evaluation
- Essays, and general information
- Letters of recommendation
- Scholarships and financial aid
- The endless awaiting stage; e-mail notifications
In the following weeks, I will be writing about these 10 stages, and how I have (or plan to) deal with each of them.
But first, I want to say something to all of you pursuing an MBA: do not let anyone or anything bring you down! If you believe in yourself, and as long as you work hard to achieve your dreams, you will achieve whatever you are aiming for and overcome any obstacles you encounter.
Take care, and good luck!!
