I have been to Chicago twice, and the last time I had the opportunity to visit the school. Booth was the first business school that I ever met, during an information session at Madrid on September 2010. Ever since that moment, I have been captured by the things that go around within the school and by its people.
Chicago Booth is not just a place for people pursuing a Finance major. It also offers a strong program in fields such as Entrepreneurship, and Marketing. Entrepreneurship is the second-largest concentration at Booth. At the Polsky Center, students are offered the chance to expand their knowledge and practice of entrepreneurship and innovation, and to participate in competitions, such as the Venture Challenge.
Around 570 students make up the Full-time MBA class each year. Usually most of these students end up working in a consulting or finance related job. The top three employers are: McKinsey & Company, The Boston Consulting Group and Barclays.
The deadlines for the Full-time MBA program are:
- Round 1: October 12th.
- Round 2: January 4th.
- Round 3: April 4th.
I have already started working on the application, and I will be applying by the end of December. The essays are the following:
- What are your short- and long-term goals, and how will a Chicago Booth MBA help you reach them? (600 words)
- Re-applicants only: Upon reflection, how has your thinking regarding your future, Chicago Booth, and/or getting an MBA changed since the time of your last application? (300 words).
- At Chicago Booth, we believe each individual has his or her own leadership style. How has your family, culture, and/or environment influenced you as a leader? (750 words)
- Considering what you’ve already included in the application, what else should we know about you? In a maximum of four slides, tell us about yourself.
I’m really pleased with everything I know about the School, and the people I have met are awesome. I will be attending an Student ambassador event at Madrid tomorrow, I’ll try to tell you all about it once I get home.
