Learn From Personal Experiences

Remember the post I wrote yesterday about the importance of knowing and being yourself when looking for a job or applying to business school? Yesterday Fuqua published in their blog a post written by a second-year student related to this topic – I assure you that we did not agreed to write such articles at the same time!

This student shared his personal experience during his job search at Fuqua, and the key factors he thinks one should take into account during the search.

My plan is to focus my studies on entrepreneurship and strategy, and narrow my job search to consulting and high-tech companies. However, general management is an option that each day seems more interesting. Lately, sports business has also caught my attention, and I will definitely want to learn more about it at Fuqua. As you can seen, I will also have to narrow my job search, or I might end up having a similar problem as the second-year student.

There’s not a better way of learning than from personal experiences.
