Enrique ToubesI am an MBA candidate, class of 2015, at Duke University – The Fuqua School of Business. In this blog I write about my experience applying to different business schools and my journey at Fuqua.

I started this blog in December 2010, when I began applying to business school. I wanted to practice writing in English, at the same time I kept my family and friends updated about my progress. After I while I realized that a lot of people where seeking information about the MBA application process, tests and business schools. Hence, I also started writing for the general public.

In this blog you can read my story since the moment I started considering an MBA, find templates and tips for the TOEFL and GMAT, MBA interview experiences and useful information about several business schools. But mainly, you will be able to discover all about Duke’s MBA and Team Fuqua!

Personal information

I was born in 1983 in San Fernando (Southern Spain), a city located 5 miles from Cádiz.

I have traveled a lot since I was born and I have lived in many different cities, inside Spain and the US. I graduated from High School in Maryland (USA) and studied Computer Science Engineering in Madrid (Spain). I have worked one year at Oracle and four years at an international consulting firm focused in IT management in Madrid. I also spent a year as a Project Manager at a software company in Vorarlberg (Austria).

  1. Hola Kike!

      Te contesto a tus preguntas:

  2. Hi! First of all, compliments on your blog. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of/been previously nominated for a Liebster Award, but I would like to nominate your blog. Your posts are entertaining, and I would love to read your responses to my ten questions. Check out my latest post if you have the time/are up for the challenge!
    Thanks in advance,
    CaveGirl MBA

  3. Hi!Let me say first of all that your blog is as informative as your writing is entertaining. Weldone!
I am hoping to get an interview invite from Fuqua in the coming week. I dont live in the states, so a campus visit is out of the question for me. I have based my school choices on contents from the website and alumni testimonies. As a current student at Fuqua, what would you say has pleasantly surprised you since you matriculated that only the student experience can reveal at Fuqua. I am asking this because there are many schools who talk a lot about leadership and teamwork (very important factor in my decision). What differentiates Fuqua from the rest. Hope to here from you. Thanks

    • Thanks for your comment tundeglobal!

Fuqua is unique in many aspects, but I would highlight Team Fuqua from above all. Students, professors, and stuff go the extra mile to help each other and grow together, both personal and professionally. We live by the “work hard, play even harder” spirit, and you can tell by the endless activities that Fuqua students organizes.

Good luck and hope I can meet you next year in Durham!
